Description
Whether you are new to the problem-solving process called Design Thinking, or are a seasoned veteran, you’ll want to hear how Milpitas School District built 21st Century Learning Environments in two short years. Mr. Cary Matsuoka will share how he inspired his staff to lead and implement the redesign process. You can read more about the transformation here.
We’ll hear from Dr. Ken Montgomery, the Executive Director of a new charter high school in San Mateo Unified School District, called Design Tech High, which is essentially reinventing how high schools are designed, using the Design Thinking Model: http://www.designtechhighschool.org
We’ll also learn from Jeanne Elliott, the Principal at Bayside STEM Academy, and two teachers, Mr. Rob Bolt, and Mr. James Brunner, about how Bayside has been integrating Design Thinking into the middle school curriculum over the last six years with support from Stanford’s d.school K12 Lab Network –without moving one wall.
