Information about Propositions 30 and 38

Many of our constituents are confused between the two revenue initiatives that will be on the November 6 ballot:
- Proposition 30 – Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act (also known as the Governor’s initiative)
- Proposition 38 – Our Children Our Future: Local Schools and Early Education Investment Act (also known as Molly Munger’s initiative)

Note that CSBA has endorsed both measures to ensure that at least one of them passes. Neither is a permanent structural fix to our byzantine funding system, but either would generate billions of dollars in much-needed revenue for public education.
